Why does barium petroleum sulfonate have a reliable anti-rust effect?
Barium petroleum sulfonate itself is a kind of compound with strong polarity. Adding barium petroleum sulfonate to oil can form a tense protective film on metal, which has 2 important functions:
1. Separate moist content and air:
It can prevent metal from contacting oxygen and water to avoid rust due to oxidation.
2. Dispersed corrosive substance:

Neutral barium dinonylnaphthalene sulfonate-Chorus Ba-29N
Chorus Ba-29N is a good neutral antirust additive and anti-emulsifier. It has a small influence on some acid additives and can not produce sedimentation in some lubricant formulations.

Good oil-soluble and high anti-emulsification ability can prevent water from emulsifying and keep the oil clean and stable.
Low TBN (≤1mgKOH/g), it doesn't influence other additives, has better compatibility, and the formulation is safer.
Wide application: it's suitable for anti-rust oil, hydraulic oil, gear oil, metal working oil, and other lubricant oil systems.
Basic Barium Dinonylnaphthalene Sulfonate (Carbonated) - Chorus Ba-29C
Chorus Ba-29C is an oil-soluble antirust; it has a similar antirust performance to Chorus Ba-29B and Chorus Ba-29N.

The double performance of anti-rust and neutralize acid substance, and high TBN 35–55 1mgKOH/g helps it neutralize the acid substance from oil.
Attention:
Chorus Ba-29C may have little influence on some non-ferrous metals; the formulation compatibility with the EP additive should be evaluated.
