Introduction

 

Basic Barium Dinonylnaphthalene Sulfonate (Chorus BSB) is a versatile oil-soluble anti-rust additive used in rust preventive formulations.

It has excellent anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties for ferrous metals.
It has good oil-soluble stability and excellent demulsibility.
It has an alkalinity reserve in the form of barium hydroxide Ba(OH)2 with a base value of approximately 45mgKOH/g to neutralize acidic components in lubricant oil.
Chorus BSB has a base value from barium hydroxide, which may result in slight corrosion to copper and some nonferrous metals.
In some extreme-pressure oil formulations, Chorus BSB may slightly affect the oil's extreme-pressure performance.
