As per the TBN, Sulfurized alkylphenols lubricant detergents including low-base sulfurized alkylphenols (TBN approx 100mgKOH/g), medium-base sulfurized alkylphenols (TBN approx 150mgKOH/g), high-base sulfurized alkylphenols (TBN approx 250mgKOH/g), ultra-high base sulfurized alkylphenol (TBN above 300mgKOH/g) .
Sulfurized alkylphenols have particularly good acid neutralization capacity and excellent anti-oxidation and anti-corrosion properties.
The high-temperature detergency of sulfurized alkylphenol is particularly good, and it is one of the indispensable additives for supercharged diesel engine oil;
Sulfurized alkylphenols have good alkali reserve and water separation property （demulsibility）, are widely used in various grades of internal combustion engine oils, and are one of the main additives for marine lubricating oils.
Compare with sulfonate detergent， High Base Alkylphenol not only has the ability to neutralize acid but also has antioxidant properties. However, although the over base sulfonate has the ability to neutralize acid, it may reduce the performance of the antioxidant agency in the lubricant.
