Advantages of Synthetic Ester based High-Temperature Chain Oils
Leave a message
High-temperature chain oils are categorized by base oil into mineral, PAG polyether, and synthetic ester types. What are the distinct technical advantages of synthetic ester-based formulations?
Applications of Synthetic Ester based High-Temperature Chain Oils:
Operating Temperature: Usually ranges from about -30°C up to 280°C.
Applicable Industries: Lubrication of stenter frames, heat-setting machines, ovens, high-temperature drying room tracks, and chains in the textile dyeing, printing, and plastics industries.
For example, high-temperature chain drives in textile finishing-such as stenters and printing machines-long maintain operating temperatures of 210°C–230°C (up to 250°C). Consequently, there are stringent requirements for the chain oil's high-temperature anti-coking properties and evaporation loss performance.

Characteristics of Synthetic Ester-Based High-Temperature Chain Oils:
① Excellent high-temperature stability and oxidation resistance, with minimal evaporation loss, ensuring long-lasting performance at high temperatures.
② Outstanding lubricity and anti-wear properties that effectively protect chains and dramatically reduce energy consumption.
③ Superior adhesion, wetting, and spreadability, resulting in minimal dripping.

Among synthetic esters, trimellitate esters and pentaerythritol ester polyolester are used for high-temperature chain oils. Lubricant selection should prioritize application-specific needs over raw specifications; higher temperature ratings do not always translate to better results. Generally, it is advisable to choose a product with a flash point 20–30°C higher than the operating temperature. while also ensuring low odor, minimal smoke generation, reduced carbon deposits and coking, low consumption, and excellent lubricating performance.
