Introduction
Trimellitates are excellent lubricant base fluids, characterized by high flash points and low volatility, making them particularly suitable for high-temperature applications. They are synthesized from trimellitic anhydride and organic alcohols.
Trimellitates are widely used as synthetic base oils in high-temperature chain oils, air compressor oils, and greases.
They can also be blended with hydrocarbon base oils ( e.g., PAO, GLT) to serve as the one base component in synthetic or semi-synthetic lubricants.
