The PAG base oils deliver outstanding load-carrying, film strength, anti-wear, lubricity, and sludge resistance. By contrast, conventional mineral oils and other synthetic oil types are inadequate under the same operating conditions.

WATER SOLUBLE PAG
Water-soluble polyalkylene glycol (PAG) base oils, which are suitable for high-performance synthetic gear oil and industrial lubricant formulations.
- Excellent cleanliness with low tendency to form carbon deposits.
- Provide outstanding load carrying & good lubricity properties.
- Water-soluble PAG oils have water-tolerant, their properties are almost no unaffected even with small water contamination.
- Low pour point delivers lower operating temperatures than other hydrocarbon base stocks.
- Effective micropitting protection for gear boxes
- PAG fluid exhibits good heat conducting properties over a wide temperature range. Its low friction coefficient minimizes heat generation, while its high conductivity coefficient enables rapid heat transfer.
- Higher energy efficiency compared with other hydrocarbon base oils.

Q: Water-Soluble vs. Water-Insoluble PAGs – How to Select for PAG Gear Oil Formulations?
A: Both water-soluble and water-insoluble PAGs are widely used as base fluids in high-performance gear oils-for example, a German manufacturer uses water-insoluble PAGs, whereas an American counterpart prefers water-soluble PAGs in its formulations. Q: Are conventional gear oil additives compatible with PAG base oils?
A: Some traditional gear oil additive packages (e.g., certain sulfur-based EP types) may not be suitable for blending with PAG base oils.
